Cultural Identities

About Stephanie Alvarez, LCSW, PMH-C

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Perinatal Mental Health–Certified (PMH-C) provider who supports caregivers, infants, and families during pregnancy, postpartum, and the early years of parenting. This season of life can bring joy, but it can also bring overwhelm, anxiety, and unexpected emotional challenges. My goal is to create a calm, supportive space where caregivers feel heard, understood, and supported as they navigate these transitions.

My work focuses on strengthening the caregiver–child relationship and helping parents build tools for emotional regulation, confidence, and connection. I use a relationship-based, trauma-informed approach that integrates evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and infant–parent mental health principles. I have specialized training in perinatal mental health and caregiver-infant relationships, allowing me to support families through the emotional and developmental needs that arise during this important stage.

As a Latina and first-generation professional, I deeply value culturally responsive care. I strive to honor the cultural strengths, experiences, and traditions that families bring into the healing process while creating a space where caregivers feel respected, supported, and empowered.
