About Giovanney Mendoza, LCSW

If you’re reading this, congratulations on taking the first step to getting help! Are you finding it tough to your needs before everyone else’s, feeling unseen in your relationships, or navigating anxiety, self-doubt, acculturation stress, or complicated family dynamics?

My therapeutic approach is centered on what you need. I encourage you to explore your strengths, and take charge in the care you are seeking. I take the time to get to know my clients deeply to understand their goals and needs to better help them feel comfortable. I strive to make sure our work together leaves them feeling more confident, empowered and in control. My clients can expect someone who meets with them a direct approach, rooted in kindness. Together, we’ll collaborate on care, identify strengths and develop realistic coping tools. You are the expert in your experiences, and I’m here to guide and support you in a way that aligns with your needs and values.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker open to working with individuals seeking an open space to support you where you are at in life. I’m here to support clients from a variety of diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to: the migrant community, first and second generation Americans, BIPOC individuals, and the LGBTQIA+ community. I identify as cis, 1st-gen Latino New Yorker and a child of immigrant parents.

My approach is client centered, relational, and collaborative. I encourage you to explore your strengths, and take charge in the care you are seeking. I welcome all who bring in past therapy experiences, and those who are new to therapy. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities to best support you and your present needs. I typically work with folks who have formal and informal diagnoses of PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and mood disorders.
