About Joe Hernandez, LMSW

José F. Hernandez is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) based in Mission, Texas, and a proud graduate of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He brings a diverse background in social work, compliance, education, and hands-on wellness care, allowing him to support clients with a holistic, compassionate, and grounded approach to mental health.

José is deeply committed to improving the quality of care for the individuals and families he serves. He has experience conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions in mental health settings. His work is guided by a strong belief in meeting clients where they are and partnering with them to navigate life’s challenges with dignity and respect.

With a professional history that includes community outreach, program evaluation, and compliance leadership, José understands the importance of ethical, client-centered care and effective collaboration. He has worked closely with interdisciplinary teams, community organizations, and clinical leadership to ensure services are delivered thoughtfully and responsibly, always with the client’s well-being at the forefront.

In addition to his clinical background, José is also a Licensed Massage Therapist with years of experience supporting physical wellness and stress reduction. This unique perspective informs his therapeutic approach, recognizing the powerful connection between the mind and body and helping clients develop greater awareness, balance, and resilience.

José earned his Master of Social Work from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he also completed his undergraduate studies in social work. He is passionate about serving the Rio Grande Valley community and creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered in their healing journey.
