Cultural Identities

About Frances De Los Santos, LCMHC

Born into a line of survivors, and existing as a neurodivergent Latine non-binary child of immigrants, I understand that our different identities greatly impact how we experience the world, the challenges we face, and the beliefs we form about ourselves. We learn how dangerous or safe the world is through our individual experiences, the experiences of our loved ones, and those of our ancestors. We can move and adapt accordingly in order to survive, sometimes abandoning the softest parts of ourselves.

I specialize in supporting:

  • Children of immigrants and folks from mixed-status families
  • Community organizers
  • Fat identifying clients
  • Folks navigating depression, anxiety colonial trauma, childhood trauma, relationship repair, attachment wounds
  • LGBTQ+ and Queer-affirming clients
  • Late diagnosed ADHD

I view the therapy space as one filled with vulnerability, valid hesitation, bravery, and magic. My approach is guided by compassion, liberation ideals, parts work, and gender-affirming and neurodivergent-affirming practices to meet folks where they are. I am deeply passionate about supporting folks as they strengthen their reconnection to their body and inner wisdom by cultivating space to explore hurt and reconnect with parts of selves that have been abandoned for survival.

You are deserving of a space that hears you, sees you, and embraces all of who you are, all of who you were, and all of who you will be.
