Hello, I’m Dr. Karla Mayorga (she/her), a bilingual (English/Spanish) psychologist licensed in California and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in California and Utah. I offer warm, culturally grounded therapy and psychological evaluations for adults across California and Utah. I provide all services virtually in English and Spanish, and I strive to create a compassionate, emotionally safe, and fully inclusive space for healing.
Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed—by trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship conflict, cultural expectations, identity exploration, or major life transitions. Others seek therapy because they want to improve communication, heal relational wounds, strengthen intimacy, or finally understand patterns that keep repeating. My clinical style is warm, down-to-earth, direct when needed, and deeply supportive. I offer a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without judgment.
⭐ LGBTQ+, Sex Therapy & Relationship Support
I offer sex therapy informed by Evergreen’s Sex Therapy Informed Practice (CSTIP) and LGBTQIA+ affirmative care. I work with adults navigating:
intimacy concerns
desire differences
sexual shame or trauma
pleasure, communication, and emotional closeness
sexual identity exploration
kink awareness (nonjudgmental)
ENM, open relationships, and polyamorous dynamics
boundaries, consent, and emotional safety
I am also a sex worker–affirming therapist. My approach is sex-positive, validating, and grounded in a deep respect for your lived experiences and autonomy.
⭐ Couples Counseling (Inclusive of LGBTQ+, ENM & Polyamory)
I provide couples counseling for partners who want to improve communication, rebuild trust, or strengthen emotional and physical intimacy. I support all relationship structures, including monogamous couples, LGBTQ+ couples, open relationships, and polyamorous/ENM partnerships. Common areas I help couples with include:
communication and conflict resolution
repairing ruptures and rebuilding trust
navigating desire differences or intimacy blocks
cultural and family stressors
relationship transitions and identity exploration
agreements, boundaries, and relationship structure clarity
My approach is emotionally focused, culturally attuned, and grounded in creating safety for both partners.
⭐ Depression, Anxiety, Grief & Emotional Healing
I support adults experiencing:
depression, low motivation, or emotional numbness
anxiety, excessive worry, and overthinking
grief, anticipatory grief, and major life transitions
inner child wounds
relationship stress
boundary challenges
emotional overwhelm
I integrate trauma-informed care, CBT, mindfulness, and culturally responsive approaches that honor your emotional world, your history, and your cultural identity.
⭐ Trauma Therapy
Many of my clients are healing from:
childhood trauma
emotional neglect
intimate partner violence
immigration-related trauma
generational wounds
complex and layered trauma
I approach trauma work with compassion, cultural understanding, and respect for your pace. Healing is not rushed. Your story is held with care.
⭐ Immigration Psychological Evaluations
I provide comprehensive, bilingual evaluations for:
U Visa
T Visa
VAWA
I-601A Hardship Waiver
N-648 Disability Waiver
My reports are detailed, trauma-informed, and tailored to each case. I approach every evaluation with cultural sensitivity and deep respect for each client’s story.
⭐ ADHD Evaluations (English & Spanish)
I offer ADHD screenings and full ADHD psychological evaluations for adults. Assessments include:
diagnostic interview
ADHD rating scales
mood and trauma screening
clear diagnostic impressions
personalized recommendations
I also provide bilingual documentation for workplace or academic accommodations when appropriate.
⭐ Bariatric / Weight-Loss Surgery Evaluations
I conduct supportive, nonjudgmental psychological evaluations for bariatric and weight-loss surgery preparation, focusing on readiness, coping skills, and long-term success.
⭐ Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Letters
I offer clinically appropriate ESA letters for clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental health needs where an emotional support animal may help.
⭐ How I Work
Clients describe me as warm, relatable, culturally attuned, and honest in a supportive way. I welcome adults navigating complex identities—immigrants, first-generation individuals, LGBTQIA+ clients, sex workers, people in open or polyamorous relationships, and anyone seeking a safe, shame-free space to heal and grow.
My approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and the belief that healing is possible when you feel truly seen, heard, and understood.
⭐ You deserve a space where your story is honored with respect and where healing feels possible.
If you’re looking for therapy that is warm, inclusive, and deeply grounded in your cultural and emotional world—or if you need a comprehensive bilingual evaluation—I’m here to support you.
