Cultural Identities

About Osvaldo Alcaraz, LPC

As a Latino, I realize it can be difficult to challenge the social norms that we grew up with. Our hardships are often hidden beneath layers of cultural expectations and pressures. Core values like family loyalty, faith, and resilience aren’t inherently harmful, but they can make it more difficult to speak up when we struggle. Perhaps you’ve even minimized your pain or questioned if it’s “bad enough”. Whether you’re navigating religious trauma/PTSD, ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, or a mix of all five, my goal is to help you heal and explore what it means to be a whole person, not just someone living up to external expectations.

Although I welcome clients from all backgrounds, I specialize in working with Latino men. As a queer therapist, my focus is on the unique pressures men face around masculinity, sexuality, emotional suppression, and shame. Many of us are taught that asking for help isn’t “manly” and that strength means staying silent, but that doesn’t make all your problems go away.

I approach therapy with cultural humility and respect, offering you a space where your vulnerability is both valued and welcomed. If you’re questioning your faith, healing from spiritual abuse, or trying to reconnect with your spirituality on your own terms, I’d be happy to walk alongside you as you navigate your own path toward growth.
