Cultural Identities

About Carmen Rodriguez, LCSW

I know what it’s like to carry the weight of stories that aren’t always easy to share, feelings of anxiety, sadness, or the echoes of past experiences that shape how we move through the world. As an immigrant from Mexico, I understand the complexities of navigating between cultures, generations, and expectations while trying to stay connected to who you are. These experiences have shaped my passion for supporting immigrant, multigenerational, and BIPOC individuals and families as they heal, grow, and find their voice.

In my work, I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you or your child can show up fully and human. Together, we’ll explore what healing looks like for you. That might mean learning to calm the mind when life feels chaotic, making sense of family and cultural patterns, or finding the courage to write a new chapter in your story.

My approach is trauma-informed and rooted in empathy and cultural awareness. I integrate evidence-based practices such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Play Therapy interventions, and Level One Theraplay & MIM in family sessions. Each tool is adapted to honor your unique experiences and strengths.

As a bilingual therapist, I offer therapy in both English and Spanish because I believe language is more than communication—it’s identity, history, and connection. My goal is to make therapy an affirming space where all parts of you are welcomed, understood, and supported.

Above all, I see therapy as a journey we take together, one that nurtures healing, resilience, and self-compassion. You don’t have to carry everything alone. Healing begins when you feel seen, heard, and believed in.

Insurance info: I am in the process of getting credential with Anthem, Aetna and Lyra.
