Cultural Identities

About Alexis Diaz, LCSW

I’m a licensed clinical social worker with more than a decade of experience in a variety of settings; from clinics, to schools, to nonprofits. I offer counseling, consultation, and teaching with a focus on queer and trans people of color as well as those working towards social & environmental justice. My deepest desire is for everyone to find their authentic selves and bring their unique gifts to our world.

I’m a gender fluid child of the 80’s, second gen Puerto Rican, queer, from Jersey. I have that complicated multiracial identity that comes from a Caribbean diaspora with light skin, able-bodied, and masculine privilege, too. I’m from a middle-class family, big in people, opinions, personalities, and stories. I call Queens home.

I help people seeking:

*Supportive space to explore identity & gender-affirming care options
*Better relationships with loved ones
*Help with parenting or co-parenting
*Help managing the stress of leadership, and social & climate justice work
*Healing from intergenerational trauma
*Finding and holding onto hope
…as well as other challenges that life brings. I specialize in therapy to improve relationships, both with others as well as with ourselves. Together, we’ll get clear on the change you’re hoping for and the steps we need to take in order to get there.
