About Mayra Elizabeth Bonilla, LMFT

If you’ve ever felt like you give more than you receive in love, or keep ending up in relationships that leave you feeling unseen, you’re not alone. I help people break old patterns and build relationships that feel safe and real.

Hi, I’m Mayra Elizabeth Bonilla, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California. I’m a proud Latina therapist and offer therapy in both English and Spanish. My goal is to give you a space where you can feel safe, grounded, and supported as you focus on you.

I work with adults and young professionals navigating attachment wounds, relationship struggles, and generational expectations. Many of my clients are first-generation Latinx individuals who’ve spent years being the strong one, holding everything together for others.

My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I use a trauma-informed and attachment-based approach to help you understand your patterns and learn new ways of showing up in love. Many of my clients come in feeling stuck, craving closeness, fearing rejection, or struggling to express needs without guilt.

In our work together, we might focus on:

Communicating your needs with confidence
Setting boundaries without guilt
Breaking people-pleasing cycles
Building self-trust in love
As a Latina therapist, I understand how culture and family shape how we show up in relationships. Here, you don’t have to explain or translate those experiences, they’re already understood.

Therapy with me isn’t about perfection. It’s about healing old wounds, breaking unhealthy cycles, and learning how to choose love that feels safe, balanced, and real.

If you’re ready to create healthier patterns and feel more secure in your relationships, I’d love to support you. You deserve a love that feels steady and mutual. Healing starts with choosing you.
