Hi, I’m Dr. Ed Delgado-Romero —psychologist, father, professor, and lifelong advocate for social justice in higher education and mental health. I’m a son of Colombian immigrants and grew up bicultural and bilingual. In my work as a professor I’ve published, presented and been a supervisor and provider of bicultural and bilingual therapy.
For nearly 30 years, I’ve dedicated my career to breaking down barriers—especially for those who’ve been marginalized, dismissed, or treated as “other.” Whether in my work as a counseling center psychologist, a university professor, or a mentor to the next generation of culturally responsive therapists, my passion has remained the same: to help people feel seen, supported, and empowered in spaces that haven’t always welcomed them.
In therapy, I believe that a healthy process leads to healthy outcomes. It can be hard to thrive when you’re constantly navigating invalidating or oppressive environments. I work alongside my clients to help them reconnect with their sense of purpose, rediscover inspiration, and reclaim their idealism—even when cynicism or burnout starts to creep in.
I also believe deeply in the transformative power of therapy because I’ve experienced it myself. Like many, I hesitated to ask for help at first, but the support of trusted therapists truly changed my life. That’s why I bring warmth, honesty, and authenticity into the room. I understand the stigma some folks carry about therapy, and I honor the strength it takes to show up. I’m continually inspired by my clients’ resilience, insight, and creativity.
In sessions, I’m direct yet compassionate, reflective yet grounded. My goal is to offer a space where you feel both supported and gently challenged—to grow into the version of yourself you’ve been striving toward, even when the world tries to hold you back.
