Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
My name is Yanina Rivera Lopez (she/her/ella), and I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) offering trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapy. I support individuals, families, and communities navigating trauma, life transitions, and healing through a decolonial, liberatory approach that honors ancestral wisdom and centers your full humanity.
I specialize in working with young adults, adults, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people of color who are exploring identity, healing from complex or intergenerational trauma, burnout, shame, anxious attachment, and life transitions. Many of the people I work with feel “stuck” in patterns that no longer serve them, carry responsibility for others, or struggle with self-criticism, disconnection, or exhaustion. Others come during times of grief, relationship changes, parenting stress, systemic harm, or major life shifts.
My approach to therapy is warm, relational and collaborative. I work at a pace that honors your nervous system and believe healing happens through safety, trust, and honest connection—not pressure or pathologizing. All parts of you are welcome here, including those that feel unsure, reactive, guarded, or overwhelmed.
I integrate IFS, somatic and sensory-based work, expressive arts, attachment-based approaches, and CBT/DBT tools, grounded in harm reduction and a decolonial framework that honors culture, context, and collective history.
My perspective is shaped by years of work in community mental health, anti-trafficking inititives and grassroots organizing alongside communities impacted by systemic harm.
I also offer psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy (including ketamine-assisted psychotherapy), held with humility, consent, and respect for the cultural, spiritual, and ancestral lineages connected to these medicines. This work is collaborative, non-pathologizing, and centered on your autonomy and embodied wisdom.
In addition to individual therapy, I facilitate a decolonizing KAP group and offer retreat-style intensives, consultation, coaching and clinical supervision- particularly for BIPOC healers, early-career therapists, and organizers navigating emotionally demanding roles.
I offer some in-person sessions in a cozy, plant-filled space designed to help you exhale, as well as virtual therapy across California. I value real connection, creativity, and humanity in the therapeutic process. Healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken; it’s about remembering who you are and reclaiming your story.
If you’re curious about working together, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to explore fit.
You don’t have to carry it all alone.
