About Michelé Lopez, LCSW 121889

Are you the one who “has it all together,” yet feels a quiet, heavy exhaustion underneath?

Hello, I’m Michelé, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist. As an Afro-Caribbean woman, I understand that healing does not happen in a vacuum. My practice is dedicated to providing a transformative space where your lived experience is not just seen, but deeply honored. I specialize in helping high-achieving individuals—particularly first-generation professionals of all backgrounds—navigate the unique pressures of “being the first” while managing the weight of systemic expectations.

My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and rooted in a holistic perspective. I utilize a blend of somatic and cognitive therapies to address a variety of concerns including

-Cultural Relationships & Dynamics: Navigating the complexities of family-of-origin expectations, individual identity and cultural boundary-setting.

-First-Generation Professionals: Addressing “imposter syndrome,” the pressure to succeed, and the unique burnout that comes with being the first to break barriers.

-Burnout & Workplace Stress: Processing the chronic stress of navigating environments not built for our success.

-Identity & Life Transitions: Exploring the “who am I?” during career shifts, moves, or evolving personal values.
-Anxiety & Depression: Moving beyond symptom management to address the root causes of emotional distress.

-Cultural Relationships & Dynamics: the intersection of different backgrounds, family-of-origin expectations, and cultural boundary-setting.

Whether you are a first-generation professional navigating the “double consciousness” of corporate spaces or an individual feeling the weight of burnout, stress, anxiety or depression, I am here to help you untangle the threads. I recognize that our identities are shaped by the intersection of culture, structural systems, and the generational narratives we carry.

Let’s create a space where there’s no need for code-switching and you can feel safe to explore all the parts of you. If you are seeking a therapist who is a a dedicated advocate for the ‘in-betweeners’—the bridge-builders and the cycle-breakers, let’s begin the work of breaking down those barriers and coming home to yourself.
