Marialejandra (she/her/ella) is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #147661) who provides therapy for individuals, couples, and families. She is a first-gen Latina and daughter of Ecuadorian and Mexican immigrant parents. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and the first in her family to obtain a graduate degree.
Marialejandra specializes in trauma-informed care with a focus on generational trauma, intersections of cultural identity, and inner child wounds. She is passionate about supporting and guiding first-gen, children of immigrants in building an internal sense of safety, and reclaiming their voice, inner strength and self-trust.
Marialejandra is committed to creating a safe, compassionate, and empathetic space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. She is dedicated to supporting her clients in building a more authentic life. She employs a collaborative and person-centered approach which emphasizes the importance of collaboration, where each clients’ unique experiences and voice are central to the healing process.
She also utilizes a holistic approach, integrating mindfulness and evidence-based practices to support healing such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), journaling, visualization, grounding, and self-care.
When working with couples Marialejandra uses a Gottman Method approach.
