About Emmanuel Garcia
I’m Emmanuel Garcia, a Mexican American therapist, first-generation college graduate, and the founder of Radiate Hope Therapy. I provide individualized therapy for first-generation adults and adolescents navigating trauma, substance use, identity struggles, and major life transitions. My work is rooted in understanding how cultural expectations, generational patterns, and stigma around mental health can impact the way we cope, connect, and grow.
My Approach
I believe therapy is a space to:
• Process past trauma and unresolved experiences
• Navigate identity challenges and life transitions
• Build resilience and emotional regulation skills
• Support recovery from substance use
• Explore personal values beyond family and cultural expectations
Every session I hold is client-centered and culturally grounded, integrating approaches such as:
• DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)
• CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
• ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy)
• Trauma-focused therapy
• Narrative work
My goal is to provide practical tools and compassionate guidance while holding space for the complexity of your story.
Why I Do This Work
Growing up, I experienced the silence and stigma around mental health, especially for Latino men. In many communities, strength is often defined by staying quiet. I know firsthand how isolating that can feel. I believe real strength comes from breaking the silence and beginning to heal.
My path to becoming a therapist began during college when I studied abroad and experienced genuine compassion and emotional support for the first time. That experience inspired my own journey through therapy and sobriety, giving me clarity, belonging, and purpose. Today, I bring that same empathy and understanding into my work with every individual I support.
Who I Work With
I specialize in helping first-generation adults and adolescents who are:
• Navigating trauma or past wounds
• Recovering from substance use
• Exploring identity struggles
• Facing major life transitions
• Feeling stuck in survival mode or disconnected from themselves
Whether you are just beginning therapy, exploring sobriety, or trying to define who you are beyond expectations, I work to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for healing, growth, and self-discovery.
Accessibility & Locations
I provide in-person sessions in West LA and virtual therapy across California and Oregon, making mental health support accessible no matter where you are. My focus is on creating a space where individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered to take steps toward clarity and well-being.
What Sets Radiate Hope Therapy Apart
What makes my practice unique is the combination of professional expertise and lived experience. I’ve navigated my own challenges with sobriety, career setbacks, and cultural expectations, which gives me deep empathy for the individuals I serve.
I am proud to lead a practice that actively:
• Breaks generational patterns
• Promotes mental wellness in communities where therapy may feel inaccessible
• Empowers individuals to reclaim their story and move forward with purpose
Your Story Matters
At Radiate Hope Therapy, every session is grounded in cultural humility, respect, and compassion. My focus is on helping individuals heal, grow, and live with clarity and confidence. If you’re ready to begin your journey, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
