Hola, my name is Theresita Gonzalez. I am a bilingual, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 6 years of experience treating adults and Spanish speaking clients. I graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I am also a graduate from the University of Southern California where I obtained a Master Degree in Social Work. My clinical work includes working with adults with severe mental illness in a psychiatric hospital setting in addition to working with adults in a community based mental health agencies and providing individual therapy.
Additionally, I specialize in working and treating individuals struggling with Trauma, Grief, Depression and Anxiety. Moreover, I have also worked with communities to include: BIPOC, HIV+, LGBTQ and Gender-non Conforming, Homelessness, Grief and individuals in Recovery.
As a first Generation of Mexican decent, with roots spanning from Mexico City and the state of Jalisco, I understand the importance of cultural identity across the span of Latin Americans. I approach clients with openness and curiosity as I learn about your own unique identity which is essential in getting to know my clients and creating a therapeutic relationship.
As a therapist, my goal is to provide a safe, caring and a nonjudgmental space to help client’s process life challenges and struggles. While providing empathy and support, I work with everyone to promote positive change to enhance their quality of life.
