About

I believe in centering your experience, views, & values in the therapeutic process, while working collaboratively with you to discover and amplify your strengths. Counseling can be a helpful tool because it allows us to explore painful parts of ourselves and our stories in a judgement free space. I will take your lead, meeting you wherever you are in your healing journey, while also holding you compassionately accountable to the changes you want to see in your life. I utilize decolonizing and culturally responsive approaches with folks. This means I take into consideration your cultural identities (like gender, ethnicity, spiritual or religious identity, and sexuality) and the way they interact with larger social systems. Problems don’t exist in a vacuum, and I want to make sure I’m honoring and creating space for that since often times, our identities shape the stories of our lives. Being able to address how colonization and other harmful isms impact us, our families, and communities, can help us break free from stories that were never ours to hold onto. Through this, we can reclaim our voices, stories, resilience, resistance, and joy. Tania Soto, LPCC (719)204-1093
