Welcome! My name is Mariana Diaz (she/her/hers). I am a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (#143913) in the state of California. I am under the supervision of Ah Hyun Lee, LCSW (#105879). I am from San Diego, CA and identify as a Latina/Pacific Islander Therapist. I currently only hold telehealth services and accept some insurances. Something I value strongly in both my professional and personal life is cultural sensitivity and competence. Mental health services may have been delayed due to stigma and overall negative views about reaching out to others outside of the family for help. I value the time you are taking already to research and can empathize deeply with the fact that this may have been a scary experience. I see my role as a therapist as a fellow traveller with you as you discover, process, and explore what a healthier style will look like for you. Mixing in your values and family context, we can work together to see what the idea of your individual healthy lifestyle would look like. Having experience working with substance use disorders, grief, life transitions, and trauma, I have utilized many different therapy approaches as well. I mostly pull from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Focused Therapy. Overall, our time together will be experiential. Every session will hold space for you, this is your time and your journey. I am here to walk with you wherever you wish to go.
