Welcome! Bienvenido/a! I’m so glad you’re here 🙂 I’m Magda, a bilingual Spanish-speaking therapist. I was born and raised in the United States to Mexican immigrant parents and have navigated the complexities of dual cultural experiences. Growing up, I often felt caught between two worlds, struggling with a sense of not fully belonging to either one. Feelings of not being enough of either culture and constantly adapting to the different expectations created a desire to understand my experience and myself more deeply. This journey of deep exploration and learning has resulted in healing and a profound appreciation for the richness of my dual experiences. It has inevitably become an integral part of who I am as a person. As a therapist, I work with issues around cultural identity, emotional/anger management, anxiety, depression, grief, issues around life transitions, self-esteem issues, and self-empowerment.
No matter what comes up, I’m dedicated to helping you gain clarity, experience those “aha” moments, and support you on your journey at a pace that feels right for you. I approach therapy with warmth and collaboration, with the goal of creating a supportive and safe environment. In our sessions, we’ll explore your emotions, process past experiences, and envision future possibilities. You’ll learn to confidently navigate your emotions, set boundaries, and overcome self imposed barriers. My role is also to gently challenge you to make meaningful changes in the present, helping you connect with yourself and find out what happens when you try something new! Ultimately, you’ll learn how to heal yourself and also realize that you feel lighter.
