Hola! My name is Lyl (pronounced lil) and I am a child of Salvadorian immigrants. While I don’t hold sessions entirely in Spanish, I do speak it conversationally and understand fluently. I am a proudly queer woman, survivor, mother, partner and friend. My practice is affirming and welcoming to those from all walks of life. My desire is to get to know you, where you came from, how you became who you are today, and who you desire to be/reconnect to. I often work with those who are healing from the impacts of PTSD, Complex PTSD, attachment wounding, and sexual assault. Topics typically addressed are people pleasing, self-esteem, gender and sexual identity, shame/guilt, faith/religious deconstruction. If you are someone who is ready to take a deep dive into your emotions and experiences, send me a message so that we can connect!
My trainings include: Polyvagal Informed EMDR, Ego States/Parts Work, Certified in Brainspotting, Certified Grief Educator, and Birth Trauma and Perinatal/Maternal Mental Health. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #149628 in Fair Oaks, CA offering in person and telehealth sessions. Lyl Starr, M.A., LMFT
