About Lucia Salas, LMSW, CCTS-I

We all deserve to be the best version of ourselves and  sometimes that means going to therapy. Choosing to go to therapy can be scary, my mission is create a safe trauma-informed environment for my clients. I’m a Bilingual Licensed Social Worker, Certified Trauma Specialist trained in somatic and body-based self-regulation techniques.

With nearly 5 years of experience in mental health, I am dedicated to serving the Latino/Latine Community and have extensive working with trauma survivors such as domestic violence, childhood sexual abuse, people struggling with substance use, undocumented individuals, recently incarcerated, the unhoused, victims of crimes, or severe mental illnesses including Bipolar Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder,  and Borderline Personality Disorder etc.

My goal is give you the tools to understand your chronic pain, emotional responses, break destructive cycles, and learn healthy ways of dealing with your emotions/pain.

I’m the eldest daughter, born into a proud indigenous Mexican family. I understand how childhood trauma and life experiences can profoundly impact your mental health and well-being.  I provide a holistic approach to therapy to help client’s understand their nervous system to become aware of their triggers.

I lead my sessions with energy, empathy, empowerment, and honesty to provide a safe and inclusive space for each individual. I have a holistic approach to therapy and use a variety of therapeutic modalities including the polyvagal theory and aim to incorporate somatic practices to help you connect and understand your body.

You will learn to understand your nervous system and how to incorporate practical coping skills including somatic exercises, grounding techniques, journaling, sensory toys, music, art, laughter, physical movement (dance, trauma informed-yoga etc.), gratitude practices, and various cultural practices. Let’s start the process of healing and becoming the healthiest version of yourself.
