Therapy is a process of befriending yourself and finding empowerment in your journey. As a trauma-informed therapist, I believe my role is to create a non-judgmental space where clients can feel safe and demonstrate autonomy. Building a meaningful relationship with my clients, rooted in genuine human connection, is at the core of my therapeutic approach.
I’m passionate about working with adults and adolescents wanting to explore anxiety, gender identity, body image and self-esteem, racial and ethnic identity, and multicultural experiences. As a bicultural Latinx therapist, I’m attuned to the unique challenges and strengths that come with navigating the intersections of multiple identities. Understanding the impact of systems of oppression on our well-being, my work centers around unlearning shame and promoting radical healing.
Mindfulness based techniques are also integral to my approach. I believe strengthening body awareness is an essential step towards a deeper self connection, managing stress, and cultivating inner peace. In line with this belief, I’m receiving yoga teacher training at Room to Breathe, further enriching my ability to integrate somatic practices into therapy.
My clinical experience includes working with adults, adolescents, and children both in non-profit agencies and school settings. I’ve provided support to survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault and approach this work with empathy and sensitivity to address the unique needs of survivors. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and graduated from UIC’s Jane Addams School of Social Work with a concentration in mental health.
I recognize it takes courage, time, and effort to seek therapy and am always grateful to work alongside clients in navigating their mental health. If you’re interested in working with me, I’d be honored to connect with you and start a conversation!
