About Karla Sanchez, LCSW #61923

I specialize in helping individuals with anxiety and/or OCD learn to feel calm, confident, and content. Many of my clients start therapy feeling trapped in their own thoughts, unable to let go of constant worries and fears. These fears and worries prevent them from finding peace and achieving their goals. Our work together focuses on finding a sense of calm in the body and mind. We do this by understanding the cycle of anxiety and OCD and learning how to let go of unhealthy ways of coping. Together, we learn to tackle the fear head-on and learn new ways of coping to regulate the nervous system. With a little time, patience, and self-compassion, the cycle of anxiety and fear is broken and a new path emerges.

I meet with clients online or in-person for nature-based sessions (in forest, beach, park). I use the following evidence-based practices in my work: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help my clients overcome limiting beliefs and learn to cope with difficult emotions. I am also a trauma-informed yoga instructor and incorporate yoga philosophy and practices into my work to help my clients understand their nervous systems and find ways to feel calm and present. As an immigrant myself, I understand the unique experiences faced by immigrants and their families that can often predispose them to anxiety disorders—and that’s why I’m committed to helping immigrant and first-gen folks find relief in their symptoms so they can start to enjoy their lives. Ready to start tackling those worries? Please reach out an schedule your free 30 minute consultation to get started. I look forward to hearing from you!
