Joseline is a mental health counselor in New York State. She operates through a client-centered approach with a multicultural lens. Having grown up undocumented, Joseline understands the importance of one’s cultural background and societal influences.

Joseline holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology and a Master of Education in Mental Health Counseling. Over the years she has worked with first-year college students, guiding them in navigating and adjusting to college life. Joseline also has a long history of working and volunteering in activist spaces for the undocumented community as well as other communities. Joseline completed her practicum and internship at Insight & Action Therapy and now holds the position of staff therapist working with individuals as well as couples.

Joseline values establishing a safe space for clients while cultivating trust in order to help clients reach their therapeutic goals. She uses her experience, academic and life, as a way to inform her practice with the goal of holding space that is welcoming and beneficial to clients from all backgrounds.

Joseline takes an integrative approach to therapy in order to create individualized treatment plans that can meet each client’s personal goals and needs. She primarily draws from Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while integrating a client-centered approach. Multiculturalism also plays a key role in Joseline’s work, as she understands each client has unique life experiences.

Joseline works to create a safe and welcoming space for clients to explore their concerns, emotions and behaviors while setting attainable goals to promote personal growth and development.

Joseline is a member of the American Mental Health Counselors Association.
