About Jessenia Velez Matias, LISW, LCSW, MSW

I work with people who are trying to understand themselves beyond their trauma.  Many of my clients are navigating the effects of PTSD, childhood abuse, family conflict, anxiety, depression, life transitions, or struggles with self-worth. Others come to me because they feel stuck in patterns of difficult relationships—whether with a partner, a family member, or even within themselves. I specialize in trauma, PTSD, family conflict, relationship issues, anxiety, and depression. Using EMDR, Gottman Method, and trauma-informed care, I help you process past wounds, understand survival patterns, and build healthier connections.
We will explore not just why things are the way they are, but how to move through them differently. Whether that means learning nervous system regulation strategies, exploring attachment patterns, or practicing new ways of communicating, I will be there to guide and support you, not just in processing, but in actively creating change.
