I am a trauma-focused Latinx therapist (Mexican & Puerto Rican) working in the greater Chicagoland area offering Telehealth therapy. I welcome you.

I was born and raised in Chicago and it's surrounding suburbs. I value lived experience and normalizing being an imperfect human being with needs and emotions.

My blend of experience working in Illinois public school systems, youth advocacy/ mentorship programs, not for profit organizations and outpatient hospitals highlights my understanding of the intersectionality of race, gender, class, sexuality, age and ability.

I recognize the significance of generational cycles and outdated traditional values that impact self-esteem and create unhealthy belief systems and maladaptive behaviors in particular within the Latino culture, such as:

• Parentification
• Perfectionism
• Emotionally immature parents 
• Shame, Guilt and Anger 

My goal is to empower clients to have the strength and courage to learn how to manage and maintain their mental health needs long-term and ultimately improve their quality of life. I actively work to help individuals self-actualize through learning healthy decision making, boundary setting, assertive communication, utilizing their strengths and prioritizing their needs and self-care. 

I provide an integrative style of therapeutic techniques and coping strategies that include Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) to Mindfulness.

I have extensive knowledge working with Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Complicated Grief, Complex Trauma, Bipolar Disorders, Narcissism, Life transitions and Relational Challenges.

I love animals. I definitely favor cats more. On my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors, taking walks and "exercising." I think I'm pretty silly and consider myself creative. I enjoy thrifting and nostalgic things. I respect all religions but consider myself more spiritual. I enjoy reading books, listening to podcasts and horror anything!
