Hola! I am a Latina therapist of Mexican descent, who understands that cultural competence is a key aspect in meeting the needs of clients in the therapeutic space. I am grateful to Latinx Therapy for offering a platform that allows BIPOC clients and BIPOC therapists to connect with one another. My areas of focus include: narcissistic abuse recovery, healing from trauma (specifically child abuse, sexual abuse, & incest), utilizing mindfulness and ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) to address anxiety & stress, personal growth & life transitions (divorce, college, new relationship, becoming a parent), and working with individuals and couples on relationship and intimacy work–including high-conflict divorce and separation, co-parenting, blended families, and stepfamilies. I work with children 8 & up, teens, adults of all ages, couples, and families, and operate through an all-inclusive lens, utilizing evidenced-based practices from a Humanistic, feminist, anti-racist, person-centered, strength-based, LGBTQIA+ affirmative and trauma-informed perspective. I draw from my experience as a Latina woman in a multicultural marriage, a person who has lived through childhood trauma, who has experienced divorce and single motherhood raising a neurodivergent child, as well as remarriage and the beautiful complications of being a stepparent and co-creating a blended family. Most importantly, I am a person who knows that life, sometimes . . . it’s complicated. And, that’s ok. In addition to my MFT and clinical experience, I am trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, EMDR, and ACT. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist, (LMFT #133468.) I earned my M.A. in clinical psychology with an MFT emphasis at Pepperdine University. Building on my past work as an educator, I began my journey as a therapist working with children and adolescents at a school-based site, and with individuals, families, and couples at a community mental health agency. I now have a private practice via telehealth in the state of California and in-person at my office in downtown Culver City located at: 9696 Culver Blvd, Suite 303, Culver City, CA 90232. My office offers ample free parking.
