Hi! My name is Evelyn Sahagun and I am a bilingual, bi-cultural Mexican- American licensed therapist. A little about myself, I am a first-generation child of immigrant parents and like many of you, have dealt with my fair share of acculturation issues. Growing up in a "traditional Mexican household", I unfortunately witnessed many toxic and unhealthy coping mechanisms that later plagued me in adulthood. These events in many ways primed me for the careers I pursued, an animal control officer for one of the most notorious violent cities in the nation, and later a licensed therapist. I have acquired over 8 years of experience working with diverse clients from all walks of life. Some of my specialties include working with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, acculturation issues, survivors of sexual abuse, PTSD, and issues and or traumas uniquely related to first responders. The modalities I commonly practice include CBT, solution focused therapy, exposure therapy, and principals of psychodynamic. I work from a client centered approach and believe a strong therapeutic alliance is key to making changes. Unconditional positive regard and humor is my secret weapon in helping you reach your full potential. LGTBQ friendly, fluent in Spanish. I work under a group practice Tonalli Therapy & Consulting For more information, please visit website: www.tonallicounseling.com
