Bienvenid@, congratulations on taking this first major step into your healing journey! You are worth it.
I help Firstgen folks and children of immigrants unpack early childhood wounds & intergenerational trauma, gain clarity on their identities, values and needs in order develop skills such as boundary setting in order to implement needed changes in their lives, so they can thrive!
I was born in Guatemala and raised San Francisco’s Mission district, as a “Firstgen, todo!”, I can understand the struggle of growing up bicultural and can support you in processing your experience(s) of living between two completely different worlds, trying to break cycles and often feeling misunderstood whether that’s by parents, family, the education system, work, etc. Sometimes, these experiences combined with lack of support can lead to trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-confidence and other mental health issues–please know, you are not alone!
I believe therapy should be a safe, supportive, collaborative and challenging-enough space, where my role is to support your individual healing process. My approach is deeply relational, integrative and holistic. I focus on building safety and trust within our working relationship because I believe it is the foundation from where deep healing work can happen. I incorporate elements from different practices I have learned throughout the years such as trauma work, attachment, family systems, somatic (body work), narrative, strength-based, neuroscience and CBT (cognitive-behavioral therapy).
In California: I provide individual, couples and adult family therapy. As well as, trauma-based evaluations for immigration cases (u-visa, asylum, vawa, t-visa & hardship waiver)
Nationwide: 1:1 coaching for emotional regulation.
All services are via telehealth.
