Hola! I am Estefani Medina, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (License # 123566). I provide Individual, Couples, and Family therapy. When working with clients, I recognize the individuality of each person and therefore tailor my skills and application of interventions based on the presenting problem. I utilize a collaborative and person-centered approach to develop treatment goals, coping skills, and develop a trusting relationship. I focus on creating an environment that exudes safety, acceptance, and genuine empathy to work towards the client’s goals and healing.
As a first-generation Mexican American I was the first in my family to obtain a graduate degree. As a clinician I am well versed in cultural issues such as clasismo, sexism, racism and microaggressions, machismo, and social injustices which impact the mental health of individuals. I am also bilingual in English and Spanish.
I have received training in Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), Cognitive Processing Training (CPT), Integrative Treatment of Complex Trauma through USC, and in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I also enjoy working with couples combining multiple approaches. I have received specialized training for treating couples utilizing the Gottman Method (Level 1 and Treating Affairs and Trauma training).
Finding a therapist whom you feel connected and comfortable with is essential in your treatment. Evening and weekend sessions are available. I invite you to reach out for a free 15-minute phone consultation and I am happy to answer any questions you may have regarding how I work with clients.
