Hello/Saludos! I welcome you to the start of your therapy journey and your desire to heal and learn about yourself. At times, navigating our lives and relationships can be difficult, and we might feel sad, angry, or overwhelmed. Therapy can be one way to get the support you need to feel better, grow, and thrive in your life and relationships. I will happily help you achieve that. Your psychotherapy journey with me will be collaborative, where you lead the way, and I will serve as your co-pilot. I work from an integrative, multiculturally centered, and tailored approach to meet your needs. I will support you from a compassionate, non-judgmental, and caring stance. Our work together will highlight areas in your life needing attention and care, and identify behaviors no longer serving you, so you feel relief from anxiety, conflict, emotional fluctuations, frustration, low mood, sadness, and stress. You will notice improvements in your self-esteem and relationships. I look forward to working with you and providing support to help you thrive and feel better. I love being a therapist and witnessing the transformation that can happen in therapy. I want you to live your best life, as they say/como dicen. Sería un placer trabajar con usted y apoyarle para que prospere en su vida. Having experienced my own potential for change and growth through my own journey of psychotherapy over the years, I know the healing power of the relationship between a person and their psychotherapist. I made a commitment to both personally and professionally make my life’s work be that of actively seeking to build bridges and support others, particularly communities of color, to live life fully and accept all parts of themselves. My passion to delve into the hidden psyche and nourish my client’s resiliency so they have the most fulfilling relationships possible, including their relationship with themselves, is what motivates me to help people learn the alphabet and language of emotions. I have over 15 years of experience as a psychotherapist, and two decades of experience in social services with an emphasis on education, prevention, and advocacy with bilingual/monolingual immigrants, LGB and transgender community members, substance user, harm reduction, and individuals living with HIV/AIDS with an emphasis in working with women living with HIV. I work from a culturally centered approach that values all the important parts that make you, uniquely YOU. I look forward to working with you. I currently have both in person and virtual appointments available. I am a Registered Psychological Associate, PSB94027490, in the state of CA. I am supervised by Dr. Natasha Kordus, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, PSY18501. Dra. Johanna Malaret, Psy.D Latinx Therapist in Riverside, California 92501, United States
