Cultural Identities

About David Callahan, LSWAIC, CPC

Many of us struggle with past trauma, anxiety, feelings of misunderstanding, hopelessness, or just being scared of the future. It is not an easy journey to go alone and can often benefit from having somebody walk with you. If you are an adult, teen, or couple needing support in managing life’s stressors, I am happy to help. I primarily enjoy supporting LGBTQ+ clients as well as those experiencing/processing trauma. LGBTQ+ inclusivity to me includes kink, polyamory, sexuality, and all gender expansive identities. I integrate social justice and systemic barriers into therapy while addressing individual concerns. My inclusive framework embraces disability, neurodiversity, racial identity, and queer experiences, including kink, polyamory, and all gender-expansive identities. I follow a Health at Every Size (HAES) approach and prioritize harm reduction over abstinence. I hold an eclectic therapeutic approach and utilizes a variety of modalities. I am also a Certified Peer Counselor (CPC) with my own lived mental health experience. I often incorporates their lived experience with clinical relevance into therapy. I have primarily worked with individual adults in the past plus have experience working with teens and couples.
