Cultural Identities

About Celina Gonzalez, LMFT (she/her/ella)

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in practice for 15 years in the Bay Area. My practice is called En Confianza Therapy. The spirit of this practice is rooted in these words of cultural warmth inviting you to step into ease and full authenticity, trusting that you will be held in a place of warmth, comfort, and non-judgement.

My therapeutic approach has a foundation in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and is grounded in Attachment Theory. I believe that our early relationships and life experiences can profoundly inform our emotional development, relationships, and beliefs about ourselves. While these beliefs can be empowering, at times, they may also hinder the growth we desire. I have found that DBT offers and effective framework for balancing acceptance of our pasts and challenging ourselves to move towards effective change; skills to remain effective and true to ourselves even in difficult moments.

As a woman of color and daughter of immigrants, I recognize that we are all navigating the world with intersecting identifies and diverse, often complex histories. I invite reflection into the impact of historical context, culture, language, immigration on identity and emotional well-being. En Confianza Therapy is dedicated to empowering individuals to gain insights and build effective skills to cultivate greater ease, meaningful connections, and greater alignment with their values. Supporting healing and personal growth are at the heart this work. If this sounds like the space and connection you’re seeking, reach out. Let’s talk.
