Speaker Bio

I am a proud Xicana, first gen, daughter of immigrants, and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. As a bilingual, trauma-informed therapist, I continue to passionately and proudly serve the Latinx community, as well as offer consulting, training, and platícas that focus on areas of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. I'm an activist for social justice, disrupting and dismantling systems of oppression, centering collaborative and integrative practices within systems of care, and decolonizing therapy. I'm a fierce advocate for mental health care for BIPOC communities, and how to improve systems of care and support for all involved.

As the founder of a national award-winning mental health program within Kaiser Permanente, my colleagues and I created clinical programming that is culturally and linguistically responsive, including a bilingual consulta--I have always believed that we must provide support to both clients AND the clinicians who serve them--because we *are* the communities we serve. I have created other mental health care programs in the Bay Area of California, and am passionate about supporting efforts to create clinical programming that is equitable, culturally-responsive, and centers the experience of BIPOC communities, while challenging organizations and their leadership to be anti-racist; ally is a verb!
