About Debbie G. Ramirez, LCSW

Debbie received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2006 and her License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) in 2010. She worked at Children’s Institute, Inc. (CII) between the years of 2006 – 2018. She began her work there as a mental health therapist in the outpatient and school-based clinics working with children exposed to trauma and experiencing functional impairments in various areas. She also provided group therapy services to survivors of domestic violence and adult victims of child abuse. In 2010 she became a clinical supervisor to unlicensed staff where she supported and guided staff with their clinical work with children and families. In 2012, Debbie was promoted to Associate Director of Integrated Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Programs where she began to oversee and direct CII’s Domestic Abuse Response Team (DART) program (Project ERIN) and all domestic violence programs within the SPA 4 area until 2018.
In 2015 Debbie opened her own private practice in the South Bay area to nourish her passion for direct clinical work with clients. Her areas of clinical expertise include trauma, anxiety, depression, grief & loss, stress management, and life transitions. Her clinical orientation includes Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MBCBT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), and attachment work.
In the Fall of 2018, Debbie began to teach in the Masters of Social Work Program at CSUDH where she teaches various courses for the graduate students. Additionally, she works as a consultant in various capacities within the greater Los Angeles area. She is familiar with the train-the-trainer model and enjoys sharing her expertise with other agencies.
