I’m Vilma, a bilingual Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner serving adults across Arizona by telehealth. After 17 years as a nurse much of it in ICU and emergency rooms. I became a PMHNP to provide the kind of psychiatric care our community has waited too long for: thoughtful, unhurried, in your language, and rooted in respect for who you are and where you come from.
I work with Latinx adults navigating anxiety, depression, adult ADHD, burnout, and the kind of stress that comes from holding too much for too long for your family, your work, your parents, your kids. So many of us were raised to push through, to not complain, to take care of everyone first. “Estamos cansados.” And it’s okay to finally ask for help.
I offer psychiatric evaluations and medication management in English and Spanish. My approach blends evidence-based medication management with cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, motivational interviewing, and a holistic view that considers your sleep, stress, family, and culture not just symptoms on a checklist.
